The questions we get most.
- Is this really free?
- Yes — every feature you see is free during early access. We'll add paid tiers later for multi-stay trips, offline mode, and receipt OCR, but the planning core (AI itinerary, group fairness, budget splitter, weather, map) stays free for groups up to four travelers indefinitely.
- Does the AI just make stuff up?
- No. The assistant uses live tool calls to read your trip's actual preferences, itinerary, weather, and budget — and it shows you every suggested change before anything persists. The optimizer is built on real algorithms (DBSCAN clustering, nearest-neighbor TSP, Jain's fairness index), not a chat hallucination.
- What about destinations outside the West?
- Place names in any script render in English (or Latin transliteration) as the primary label, with the native name underneath. We use OpenStreetMap's name:en tag when available and fall back to a one-time Gemini translation cached forever — so 渋谷駅 reads as Shibuya Station for English-speaking collaborators without losing the original.
- How does the group settle expenses?
- Split expenses by equal share, exact amounts, percentages, or weighted shares — in any currency. We snapshot the ECB exchange rate at entry time so historical balances stay stable when rates move. Settle Up shows the minimum number of transfers to clear all debts; recorded settlements are editable so you can fix mistakes.
- Can collaborators see my data without an account?
- They need an account, but joining is one click. Generate a share link from the Invite dialog and anyone with the URL joins as a viewer. Rotating the link revokes the old one. Owners can promote anyone to editor afterward.
- What if my trip is more than 5 days out?
- Weather is OpenWeather's free 5-day forecast — for trip dates beyond that window you'll see a friendly placeholder until you're closer to departure. Past trip days are kept forever in the cache, so revisiting a finished trip still shows what the weather actually was.
